Mobile Firefox in the planning

Nick Clarke | October 10, 2007

At the moment you can get Opera and of course IE, but with the mobile and Wi-Fi markets expanding all of the time this will definitely become a big area in the internet market.

This is especially true when you consider that at the moment there is a big rise in the mobile hardware that is being offered in shops and with the big players in the market planning on offering free Wi-Fi to the masses (last week Mc Donnald’s and BT).

Firefox has defiantly changed my browsing habits so bringing it to the mobile platform is not a bad thing. Plus it will add a little bit of competition to the browser market.

Update: Forgot to mention that Opera and IE (linked with OS) are not free, whereas Firefox normally is (not sure how the license would extend to the planned mobile version).
